This image was shot early in the morning from Jones Point Park in Alexandria, VA. I used a 14mm super-wide-angle lens to get the entire bridge in the frame. The sunrise was spectacular, and the clouds in the photo are real (not a replacement sky). Even though I used a relatively slow shutter speed of 0.6 seconds, I had to further blur the water using the negative clarity and texture sliders in Lightroom to get the water somewhat smooth.

The Metal Lamp image was taken in January 2026. The bare bulb burned brightly and the shadows were interesting, especially because there are two tabs creating a nice shadow. I improved the contrast and decreased the “whiteness” inside the bulb. Taken hand-held.
