This challenge dares you to create images that express a figure of speech. A figure of speech is quite general; it includes metaphors, similies, antithesis, hyperbole and much, much more!
Karen Finkelman has kindly provided several examples of images that convey a figure of speech. Can you guess what the figure of speech is for each image? Her examples are really inspiring! For those grammarians out there, can you identify which kind of figure of speech each is?
Consider submitting your own Figure of Speech images to the Cable Release (cablereleaseeditor@ssccphotography.org). You have a couple of months to dream up one or more — please get them to the Cable Release by October 24th for inclusion with the November issue. Please submit images that are 1920 X 1440 or smaller and 1MB or smaller. They will be shrunk to 900 pixels max to suit the web page. This challenge is not judged so go out on a limb. (Hey, that’s a metaphor!)
