This month is an open competition – our last open competition of this club year.

Meanwhile, start getting prepared for the April and May competitions. In April, our theme will be Landscapes. You don’t have to go out west to shoot landscapes; they‘re all around us, large and small!

Black and White / Monochrome will be the theme in May. You don’t have to look far for good tips. I googled “black & white photography tips” and got 144,000,000 possibilities! More to the point, the first option (http://improvephotography.com/832/black-and-white-photography-tips/) had 15 short, concise, very helpful tips. And if you attended Education Night in Feruary, you heard – and saw – how Greg Holden recommends doing black and white conversions. In a future competition column, I’ll summarize Greg’s key tips for successful conversions.
