It’s a new year and the Maryland Photography Alliance (MPA) has many opportunities for you. Here are just a few to consider:

Black & White Photography Contest – MPA is planning to host a second annual contest. The single category will be Black & White. You will be able to begin submitting your images on February 15 and the submission period will end on March 31. All MPA Members will be able to submit up to 2 images for FREE and will be able to submit up to two additional images for $10. More information will be communicated soon. Winners will be announced during “Odyssey of Light”.

“Odyssey of Light” – April 15 and 16, 2023. Mark your calendar because this year’s Odyssey is going to be MPA’s best ever. Odyssey will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16. It will be virtual. MPA Members will once again receive a discount on the ticket price. MPA wants to tease you by only announcing Saturday’s speakers, who will be Joe McNally and Bryan Peterson. And you will be amazed with who MPA has lined up on Sunday. Odyssey is MPA’s biggest fundraiser for itself. Profits are used for the many MPA programs that benefit Maryland photographers. 2023 MPA Workshops – MPA has formed relationships with some of the finest
photography workshop organizations. All educational trips are part of MPA’s Grant
Program, which means not only do you receive a discount for being an MPA Member,
your club benefits too. Here are two of the next workshops you should consider:

Cuba – March 3-10, 2023. Visit and photograph Havana, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad. Learn from Essdras Suarez, a 2-time Pulitzer Prize Winning photographer. There are only a few openings available. Essdras led an MPA trip to Cuba in November and here are comments from MPA Members who attended:

Banff & Lake Louise – June 16-21, 2023 Photo Workshop Adventures is one of photography’s largest travel operations.
