Where: Sunday– Meet at Entrance of Palace of Gold, 1.30 PM.
Monday: Meet at Prison Entrance, 10 AM.

To Photograph:   Palace of Gold is a giant Gold Palace, built for the Hare Krishna Leader in 1973. Limited Areas open for photographs inside, but It also has spectacular gardens and grounds. Book Online.

Grand Vue Park; After Palace, we will travel Sunday to Grand Vue Park to photograph River views. Great Vistas overlooking the Ohio River. Maybe Davy Crockett’s Canal Boat will pass by!

The Moundsville Prison is a massive stone structure fashioned in the castellated Gothic architectural style, adorned with turrets and battlements; looks like a castle. Built in 1866, closed 1995. We can tour and photograph everything –cells, psych ward, infirmary, etc. exceptions are administrative areas and inside of Dungeon. $100. Book tickets online and sign license agreement [waiver of liability, but sales of photos are allowed with proper crediting].

Moundsville WV is on the Ohio River. From nearby Grand Vue Park there are excellent river views to photograph. Also, the town looks like the 1950s, so there is some interesting architecture and Street scenes. Overnight: Recommend Sleep Inn and Suites, in “downtown” Moundsville. Dinner TBD.
