It wasn’t what I expected.

I was certain that peace, serenity and calming darkness awaited me when I first descended the long ladder. How could I have been so wrong.

Rats, muck and unspeakable filth greeted me. Nonetheless, I tolerated the dank walls and mud-covered floor for the full four weeks. Thank God my contract is finally fulfilled.

As I climb the ladder toward the light above, I glance one last time at the hell that I’m leaving.

Now it’s time for my mind to focus on a single goal …
