Sharon Prislipsky – Judge – Open Competition

Thursday, January 14

Sharon Prislipsky has had a lifelong interest in photography and art. Her first images as a child were captured with a Brownie Starflash camera, which she used throughout her school years. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Liberal Arts degree, taking every art course she could fit into her program of studies. After earning a Master’s degree in Education she pursued a career as a school administrator, where she found she could use photography for staff training purposes and for producing interesting newsletters for the community and for families of her students.

Sharon really started pursuing her passion for photography after she retired in 2004.  She and her husband live in Arkansas, but travel the country extensively looking for unique opportunities to capture the character and natural beauty that surround us.

Sharon ascribes to the philosophy that you can never belong to too many camera clubs.  She is a past president of the Hot Springs Village Camera Club, a founding member and current president of the Nation Park Photography Club, and a member the Heard Nature Photography Club in McKinney, Texas. She is also Secretary-elect of the PSA Board of Directors.
