March Judge: Elody Crimi

Elody Crimi is the proprietor of Davanti Arts, a photo studio in Arlington, Virginia.  Her background and experience make her an ideal Open category judge.  She specializes in landscape, portraiture and fine art photography.  She is a resident artist at Artists & Makers2 in Rockville, Maryland, where she is currently offering photographic workshops.

She earned a BA in Fine Arts from Augustana College in Illinois and a Professional Certificate in Photography at the Washington School of Photography.  She has taken master courses with Arnold Newman, Joyce Tennison, and Elizabeth Opalenik.  She has curated for the Washington National Cathedral, and has co-authored Jewels of Light – a guidebook to stained glass windows – for the Cathedral.  Elody has taught classes in High Dynamic Range (HDR), Intro To Digital Basics, Polaroid Transfers, and Hand-Coloring Techniques.

Elody has received awards from the Greater Washington Council of Camera Clubs, Fairfax County Parks, and the Vienna Photographic Society.
