Jim Auerbach – Speaker: Land of Enchantment, November 1

“Seldom does the photographer simply look at a subject. To capture the unique essence of a subject – whether landscape, portrait, abstract, or one single flower – the viewer must look deep within it. This action may happen in a decisive moment, catching the laugh on a child’s face on a carousel, or over months of photographic examination of the same subject. As we look in and through a photograph it can create a feeling, or stimulate thought, or create tension. The image becomes a feast for our eyes and nourishes our spirits.  We are changed.”

Jim Auerbach will speak to SSCC on the “Land of Enchantment” on Thursday, November 1.   Jim’s photographic work includes product photography for the Kennedy Center, pictures in a Library of Congress video, work as a conference photographer, and as a volunteer photographs for numerous non-profit organizations.
