Information for Presenters

The Silver Spring Camera Club strives to offer both our members, guests and presenters the
best possible experience for presentations. To that end, the Club always has a laptop (Dell
Latitude 7240 running Windows 7) and an LCD Projector (Benq Model HT2050) that accepts
HDMI inputs. We encourage presenters to use the Club’s laptop and projector, bringing their presentation on a USB device.

Presenters are welcome to bring their own hardware if they prefer. If the Club’s projector is to
be used, the laptop or other device must either have HDMI output or the presenter should
bring the appropriate adapters so that the HDMI inputs of the Club’s projector can be used.
The Club’s laptop can accommodate USB A-type (ver 3.x and 2.0) devices (thumb drives and
other external drives) and has PowerPoint 2007 already installed. If any other software is
needed for the presentation, please contact the Club (per below) or the presenter should bring
a computer with that software already installed and running.

The Club’s equipment has been calibrated to work together and in most instances, presenters
who have brought their own laptops have been satisfied with the Club’s projection. It is NOT
feasible to recalibrate the projector for every presenter’s laptop, so if the presenter has
concerns about precise color rendition, the presenter should consider bringing their own
laptop and projector. Club members will gladly work with presenters, within these guidelines,
towards the best possible viewing of the presenter’s work.

If there are ANY questions about presentation technology for Club events, please send an
email to programs@ssccphotography.org well in advance of the day of the scheduled
presentation.
