Abstract Photography Resources – by Kate Woodward

Are you interested in abstract photography?  Are you new to the topic, or perhaps just in need of some inspiration?

SSCC member Kate Woodward was curious about what she could find on the web a few weeks ago, and shared these sites.  Some of them have lots of discussion, and others are more rich in examples.

Here is what Kate came up with:

This one is by Joe Miller: “Abstract Photography”, 2009, and is on the Northern Virginia Alliance of Camera Clubs Website,

This next one is by Adobe Learning Center (n.d.).  Although its title (which includes the word beginners) may put off some more experienced photographers in the club, I found it interesting: “Abstract Photography for Beginners: 9 Tips for Capturing Stunning Abstract Images”:

This one is published by PetaPixel: “An Introduction to Abstract Photography” by  A.C. Ekin, 2017,

The following article by Eva Polak (n.d.) also has three related articles at the bottom. It has cool quotations from abstract artists in the related articles:

And two more: “10 Tips for Taking Amazing Abstract iPhone Photos,” Kate Wesson, 2014:

and a glossary entry, with further resources, PhotoKonnection (n.d.):
